| Remembering Gordon Corsetti
Remembering Gordon Corsetti
For many of us at AYLC the name Corsetti rings a bell. Lou Corsetti might come to mind first, being instrumental in bringing the game to Georgia and serving as the Regional Director for the Southeast with USA Lacrosse. Of importance today is another name; that of Gordon Corsetti.
On Friday, Dec. 2, Gordon Corsetti lost his life to suicide at the age of 34. As an accomplished member of our lacrosse community, “There are not enough words to describe what Gordon has meant to this association, this game…” as aptly stated by the Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association. Gordon Corsetti played lacrosse for 10 years before trading his stick for stripes and serving as an official at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels, and helping to build an e-learning platform for officials.

| Join our Lax Family and sponsor Auburn Youth Lacrosse!

Auburn Youth Lacrosse Club (AYLC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow the game of lacrosse in Auburn, provide a fun environment for players to learn the game, and prepare our players to play at the high school level and beyond. Last year the club had more than 190 players across 12 teams with over 25 volunteer coaches. As part of this mission, we need to raise money for field space, equipment, and scholarships for families who need assistance in paying fees and for equipment. Partnering with businesses, generous families and individuals in the community enables AYLC to provide these opportunities at reduced costs to our players.
Help us grow the game, become a sponsor!

AYLC added a U10 girl's division this past fall with an impressive 18 girls on the roster. We are so excited about the growth of this sport and what our program provides for young athletes in our community.

| Fall Lacrosse Clinics Attract a Large Crowd
| Girls Clinic Fall 2022 | Our 2022 Fall Lacrosse Clinics Attract a Large Crowd
This past Saturday, Auburn Youth Lacrosse Club hosted their annual free fall lacrosse clinics at Pick Elementary. With over 125 athletes in attendance, the clinics were a rousing success. The girls started the morning with sunshine and fun. Players and participants enganged in favorite drills such as "hungry-hungry hippo," had a fastest-shot contest, and scrimmaged within their age levels.
This annual event serves as a great kick-off for our lacrosse year. Returning players look forward to reconnecting with friends and making new ones! The boys had the field in the afternoon. Joy and excitement could be found on all faces, new and old. They started with a dynamic warm-up and some introductory drills. Unfortunately the weather did not hold and the clinic was cut short.
All-in-all, we meet over 70 new faces this weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out to give lacrosse a try! We could not pull-off successful events like this one without the efforts of our many volunteers. A shout out to our AHS Varsity Girls who volunteered with both clinics. Thank you to Officer Rob Rich for providing our fastest shot competition. And a sweet thank you to Kona Ice for providing a treat after the hard work was finished.
